Our people

Our employees are at the heart of the movement to make sustainable chocolate the norm. It starts by tapping into their expertise and knowledge. Forever Chocolate requires all departments in our business to rethink the way they operate in order to make sustainable chocolate the norm. For example, offering sustainably sourced cocoa and chocolate in our portfolio should be prioritized over non-sustainably sourced products. Our production sites have energy champions that have formed a virtual community to exchange best practices on energy and carbon reduction targets.

  • Our Forever Chocolate strategy was launched at four town hall meetings across the globe

  • Our employees are our Forever Chocolate ambassadors. As such, we need to empower them to understand and spread the word on Forever Chocolate. In order to reach all of our colleagues, including in our production facilities, we created a Forever Chocolate toolkit, allowing all of our sites around the world to create a dedicated Forever Chocolate space on-site and organize Forever Chocolate events.

  • We brought seven of our Millennials over to One Young World in Ottawa in 2016 to discuss with their peers on sustainable food chains. In addition, a delegation of 11 Barry Callebaut employees attended the 2016 Women’s Forums in Deauville.
